I am scheduled to transfer to another command at the end of June, but my lease is not up until August 1. I've been a good tenant, no problems, no complaints, and paid my rent faithfully. In March, I went into the leasing office to ask if they would work with me to end my lease one month early on July 1 vice August 1. ' The response was that I would only end my lease one month early by paying two months rent. I'll just pay the July rent, keep my key, and you can get the key on August 1 through the mail. So, I'm going to pay a month's rent for a place that will be empty.
